Nottingham Forest have announced the signing of Costel Pantilimon from Watford for an undisclosed fee on a three-year deal.

The 31-year-old Romanian spent the second half of last season on loan at the City Ground and made 13 appearances in the Championship, keeping four clean sheets during an impressive spell for the Forest.

Most football fans will recognise the 6ft8 goalkeeper from his days at Manchester City when he deputised for Joe Hart and gained Premier League and Champions League experience.

The colossal shot stopper then moved to Watford in 2016 but struggled to break into the first team and ended up spending the first half of last season on loan at Deportivo La Coruna before joining Nottingham Forest.

The goalkeeper is Aitor Karanka’s seventh signing of the summer as he looks to mount a promotion challenge to the Premier League next season.
